Commissions
Commissions Information
***Please read before snagging a commission from me!***
Hello and welcome to my commissions information page! Here I will try my best to explain how my commissions work and how to get a commission from me when they become available.
For those who are unfamiliar with the term "commission", it simply means custom order. This means I will personally work with you on a custom design for an oversized D20 or an oversized set of dice!
I do not always have commissions available, but when they do become available I will announce when and how many slots will open on my Instagram page.
General Stuff
Every artist has their own unique style. If you follow me, that means you know that my specialties include flowers, bones, and insects. This doesn't mean that this is the only thing I can do, but please keep my expertise in mind when you get a custom item from me!
That said, there are circumstances where your custom order may be politely declined. I will not do anything that includes:
1. NSFW
2. Copying another dice maker's work (just please, no.)
3. Copyrighted material
4. Doing something outside of my comfort zone or ability (I do not have access to a 3D printer, for example... or if certain animal bones are "out of season", or a species of insect is considered "threatened" or "endangered")
5. Sentimental Items - Even though I would be honored to be asked to make something out of precious things, I will respectfully decline making things with wedding bouquets, ashes, or anything else you would consider irreplaceable. I do feel confident with my skills as a dice maker, but Murphy's Law can happen at any time and I would prefer not to deal with such precious items. I may change my mind in the future, but for now I'm sorry, I will not be doing these requests.
Rules & Pricing
When commissions become available, I will open a Google Doc form (which will be listed on my LinkTree here) that will need to be filled out first. I will only open a certain amount of commission slots, so when that number is filled, the form will automatically be closed off and no other additional submissions will be accepted. If you are unable to see the form, it means I am either not accepting commissions at that time or all of the slots have been filled.
After I read through the submissions, I will message each individual through their preferred contact method (either through Instagram or email) and we will work together on the custom design until both parties are confident in the final design. Once work is accepted, a personalized listing will appear on my website for a deposit which are currently priced as follows:
30mm Chonk D20 - $60 USD Deposit
50mm Chonk D20 - $100 USD Deposit
Oversized Dice Sets - $100 USD Deposit
(Basically about 50% payment up front... deposits can vary depending on material cost and complexity!)
***Once the work begins, deposits are NON-refundable***
If a design requires purchase of materials (like a skull or any inclusion that I do not have on hand), the commissioner will need to cover the cost of that inclusion plus the deposit. Materials also take time to ship to me, so please be patient and expect a longer turnaround time on your commission!
To give an example for overall pricing, custom 30mm flower chonks will start at the base price of $120, custom 50mm megachonks will start at the base price of $200, and oversized dice sets will start at the base price of $170-$185. Simple designs without inclusions will cost less. Prices will vary depending on the complexity of the design, materials used, and the amount of redo's requested.
When the work is completed, the remaining payment for the product and shipping will be due before shipment! (Example - if you ask for a regular 30mm flower chonk and you've already paid your deposit, then the remaining $60 USD and about $5 for shipping will be due)
Redo Requests
Each design is granted one free "redo". Any additional redos will add to the cost of the final bill depending on the complexity of the design and the price of the materials used. Base price of a redo will be $5-$10 USD for chonks, $10-$15 for dice sets. After three redos, a reevaluation of the commission request may be done.
An exception to the redo fees is if I am at fault (I choose the wrong color, something goes wrong during the curing process, etc...basically anything at fault by the maker)
If the maker and the commissioner are unable to continue forward with the design, I reserve the right to cancel the commission request. Again, deposits are nonrefundable as they cover the initial cost of materials and time used. If the commission cancellation is 100% my fault (like if I'm unable to get a certain material item or I set the dice on fire), then this will be the ONLY exception to the nonrefundable deposit rule.
Disclaimer
Because there are always disclaimers! Please note that all of my work is handmade. There is no way for me to make an exact copy of something, even if that something is my own work! I will do my best to come as close as possible to replicating one of my designs, or come up with a design that will make the both of us happy!
Dice may also have other imperfections such as mold marks, sanding marks, microscratches, pinholes, microbubbles, etc. I do my best to prevent these things, but I'm merely a human and even machines can goof up (lol gamestore dice)
As an artist, I also reserve the right to my own designs. If I make a design for a commission, the same design or aspects of the design can be used in my other work.
If a commissioner backs out of the commission request or fails to pay the remaining fees for the custom order, I also reserve the right to sell that work to recuperate costs.
Again, deposits are non-refundable and I do not offer returns/exchanges for custom work. If there are any issues upon receiving your custom work, please message me on Instagram and we will work together on a solution.
